General Admission Requirements

The common admission requirements are divided into three categories:

  • Degree requirements
  • Academic prerequisites
  • Language requirements

Admission Procedure

There is joint admission for the Nordic Master in Cold Climate Engineering. This means that all applications must be submitted through the DTU online application portal. The CV and GPA–conversion are mandatory. Use the combined ”Statement of Purpose” and “Pre-mapping of your Academic Records” document for Cold Climate Engineering. Recommendation letters are mandatory.

Motivation letter

All applicants must write a motivation letter with  a resume attached as part of the application. For the Land and Sea tracks the motivation letter must include a passage describing your expectations to spending one or more semesters in Greenland or Svalbard.

Degree Requirements

Students applying for the Nordic Master in Cold Climate Engineering must have obtained a Bachelor of Science (BSc) Degree corresponding to a minimum 180 ECTS credits. 

Students in their final year of their bachelor’s studies are eligible to apply, provided they complete their BSc by the start of the programme.

English language requirements

When applying for admission, you must provide evidence of your academic achievements and proficiency in English. The English language requirements to this programme are equal to the requirements to DTU’s English taught MSc programmes. Application deadline 1 March every year. Study start in autumn semester only.
